I have always loved the idea of a picture post card. So I am thinking of using picture post cards for our thank you notes resembling something along these lines....

What do we think!? I love the concept because the guests get to see a picture of the bride and groom on the wedding day and there is JUST enough space on the back (of the post card) to write a short and sweet personalized thank you note to your guest(s). Do you like this concept or are you a fan of the traditional thank you note?
FYI: We got our save the dates from VistaPrint and had great results. If you Google VistaPrint coupon codes you can get 100 post cards (color picture on front, blank backside) for FREE!! This idea just keeps getting better, doesn't it?!
I love this, I make photo cards all the time. I think it adds a nice personal touch. You should check out www.KodakGallery.com, you can also get these made into actually cards with envelopes and the photo quality is better!
ReplyDeleteI saw this picture on Rebekah's site and LOVED it! I definitely plan on doing this...such a cute idea!
ReplyDeleteI personally love this idea. You could even put the picture on a card front if the postcard isn't big enough. Overnightprint.com is a pretty good source as well.
ReplyDeleteI love this thank you card pictures! The first picture I placed in my wedding binder was very close to this! Love it!
ReplyDeletegreat idea. just don't bother with those cheap kodak or ophoto types. use mpix.com. you'll pay a bit more but the quality is top notch.
ReplyDeleteI love that picture. I think it's a great idea... and super inexpensive, while still personalized. Go for it!
ReplyDeleteI dont' want to go against the grain because I really do think they're adorable, however I'm kind of opposed to the quick thank you note on the back because isn't that just making extra work for you after you open the wedding gifst/money?
ReplyDeletePerhaps if you used this picture but made it into a card? (I know you can do that on Shutterfly so I'm sure other places have it too.) That way you have enough room for all your thank you's while also using the picture.
Sorry...that was long!
ps - I meant that by just jotting a quick note you'd still have to send an additional thank you card specifically thanking them for the gift, etc.
ReplyDeleteKurt and I are working on our save the dates now. What program did you use to lay yours out?
ReplyDeleteI too like the photos. My cousin who has helped design our invitations along with a friend of mine has also designed some awesome thank you notes for us! We are also doing about five different engagement pic photos on blank cards as well though for surplus thank you notes, notes along the way, etc. :) Kelly

ReplyDeletehey! i have a pic in my blog of a thank pic, if you want to check it out
ReplyDeleteI love this idea, it's adorable. You may as well try and get the shot and if you don't like how it turns out you can always go traditional later.
ReplyDeleteUse the pic, but send an actual card with an envelope. I received a "walmart-esque" wedding thank you photo and they wrote on the back on the printed photo...I found it cheap and classless.
