Don't Be Confined

As I said before, in this post, I was set on having plum and raspberry as the only two colors that appeared throughout our wedding day. If I could go back, would I change it? Perhaps. I probably wouldn't go bright & bold, but I would try not to confine our color scheme to only two colors.
Looking back now, I would love to pick two or three colors and blend them together. The colors in these photos do just that. Delicate shades of strawberry combined with mango, white and a soft green make for a beautiful palette that can be infused into the day through bridesmaid dresses, table decor, paper goods and pretty little details.
So, when choosing the colors that will be present throughout wedding day, don't confine yourself to two or three. Instead pick a few pretty hues that you adore and incorporate all of their various shades into the details of your day!

  1. Lovely post!!! I agree completely and am glad I used a 'feel' rather than specific colours, although shades of pink did feature strongly i must confess. But your colours did look lovely so no need to worry!

  3. I agree. I love the way a few colors look, and think it ties everything in nicely together.
I plan to choose Beige, White, Seafoam.

  4. Hey Jessica! I'm seeing in several of your posts, the feeling of you wishing that you had done several elements differently. You're a new bride, whose wedding came together beautifully, as you put so much time into every detail. I hate to think that you want to hit "rewind" :( You infused many fun, lovely elements of your own...I'm sure there are countless brides who think YOUR wedding is the one to replicate :)

  5. hey jessica {an atlanta bride}! i think that every bride has her moments when she looks back on her wedding and thinks "what if i lived in cali and could have my wedding on a beach?" or "what if i lived in the south and could have a lovely warm outdoor wedding in a field/garden?" because you just think how you might be able to do things differently if you didn't live in Indiana and were confined to a hotel ballroom {cool venues are few and far between in Indiana}. I think that our wedding was perfect for that moment and that time in our life. I suppose that vow renewals are so wonderful since they allow one to plan a wonderful celebration all over again! :)

  6. A vow renewal is the perfect time to implement another beautiful vision - I agree! :) I think most brides have a hard time choosing things like a color palette, a wedding dress, or even a cake because there are so many beautiful choices out there :) If it weren't for the cost and hard work behind all of it, we would all want to get married every year!! My first message was just meant to remind you that your wedding was AWESOME - you took all of your readers on a wonderful journey with you, and it was so great seeing everything come to fruition...BEAUTIFULLY. You certaintly have many wonderful ideas, great resources, and helpful advice. I'm not sure what the chances are that you'll be blogging when the time rolls around for a vow renewal, but your readers would be just as glued to all of your plans then as they were when you exchanged vows the first time around :)

  8. I'm in Dayton! I cannot wait, I am already so excited! But for some reason my monkeyville club account is all messed up (I'm obsessed) so I'm worried my code won't work for tomorrow :( But I am totally going to the Cincinnati concert!

And I love your blog by the way, I have spent the last hour of my day reading it :)
