Pinkie Swear

Dear Bloggity Blog Friends,
I haven't forgotten about all of you or this little bloggity blog. Pinkie swear, once life returns to normal and decides to pass at a slower pace that I will be back to blogging. Don't you worry, I have been stockpiling inspiration like it's my job {I wish it was} and I'll even be sharing a couple more images and details from our wedding that I forgot to blog about! Be back soon! xoxo Jessica Lynn
What would a post be without a pretty picture?! A very relaxed bride and groom {love her dress!} via jasmine star.
P.S. For any of you that follow me over at my little calligraphy shop, Penned & Pretty, new pictures are coming of our recent work!

Pretty and Pink

When Janie Medley of The Bride's Cafe posted these photos of some of her recent work for Janie Medley Flora Design, I did a double take. My little eyes had never seen anything so beautiful.
Pink, pretty and full of texture these blooms are a brides dream. I cannot decide what I adore more...the hint of berries, the delicate twigs, or the luscious colors in the bouquet. It's almost too much to take in all at once. For more bouquet inspiration from Janie Medley Flora Design, check back later this week!

Chris Craft

Happy Memorial Day! I hope that you all are relaxing and enjoying some time off today {I, however, am one of the three people at my 100+ person office that gets to work today} and hopefully getting a little early summer sun. To me, Memorial Day marks the beginning of the lake season and no picture could be more appropriate for this post than this one, featuring a beautiful Chris Craft boat and two newlyweds.
This little blog has been neglected for the past week or so due to Chris and I moving into our new home {that we love}, a visit to my Mommy and the lake as well as the continued success of Penned & Pretty. More regularly scheduled posts to come, I promise!

Pew Cards

This post over at {my other little blog} Penned & Pretty was so loved that its getting posted here too, because I know you will all adore this idea.If you are looking for an easy and sneaky way to make sure that your loved ones get a front row seat during your ceremony, include these little {bride's side & groom's side} pew cards in the wedding invitations you send your closest family members. On the back, simply write a little with instructions to bring the pew card to the ceremony and hand it to an usher to obtain their VIP seating as you say your vows. Now that makes everyone happy, doesn't it?

Pin Wheels

I saw the picture of the bride & groom with the pin wheels first. And then I fell in love with the rest of the wedding.

The flowers seen in the pictures below made my heart go pitter patter a little faster than usual. Feathery goodness to accompany the boutonnieres. Green button mums and baby's breath comprising the bridesmaids bouquets {hello adorable turquoise sash on a yummy mustard bridesmaid dress!}. A delightful turquoise raffia wrap to hold together the bride's divine bouquet. Loves it.

See, don't you want to see more of this gorgeous wedding after seeing the images above!? I thought so! Not to worry, this wedding is sure to please, but I'll only leave you with one more little cluster of loveliness.
as seen on this post on green wedding shoes...a favorite blog.

Dose of Sunshine

A little dose of sunshine for your Monday morning:
Hello citrus, hello infusion of happiness and hello gorgeous boutonnieres. As found here on Grey Likes Weddings {which you should be visiting daily, if you aren't already}.

Moving

I have big news to share with you all {if you haven't been following me on twitter}...we're moving! Chris and I closed Wednesday on our first home together and will be moving in over the weekend {along with attending a first communion and a wedding on Saturday!}. We are beyond thrilled to have our own little pad and place to call home. That being said, posting around these parts might be a little on the light side for the next week or so {plus or minus some scheduled posts}. You understand, right!?
p.s. recommendations for paint samples are highly encouraged. comment below.
p.p.s. when you buy a refridge, washer/dryer and dining room table all in one week...you feel a little broke.
p.p.p.s the cutest little moving announcements, which were posted over at Penned & Pretty as found on oh so beautiful paper by: FPO

How I Tied the Knot: Sexy Little Bride

I have to confess, I didn’t really have it all together in the days leading up to our wedding. There was a seating chart to assemble, vendor e-mails to return, and programs to be put together. The day before our wedding we packed the car of all the goodies that needed to be taken down to the hotel for the reception and ceremony. I had packed my overnight bag the week before with my bridal jewelry, clothes for the day after the wedding, etc. But I realized I had forgotten something. I had nothing to wear the morning of our wedding. You know, for the three + hours I would be getting ready in the bridal suite.

I always wanted a Victoria’s Secret “Sexy Little Bride” hoodie {which, by the way, VS stopped making recently!?!}, but always thought that it was a liiiitttle too expensivo for this little bride. As our wedding planning progressed, I kind of forgot about searching for what I would wear the morning of…..until the day before our wedding.

Once I realized I had nothing to wear, Debbie {being the wonderful Maid of Honor that she was} literally RAN to VS and surprised me later that day with the cutest Sexy Little Bride tank top that I could have ever asked for. What was even better is that I could war it with my favorite pair of VS Pink sweatpants.

{please excuse the black & white image...its the only one that I have!}

Lesson learned #30: Do take some time to think about what you will wear the morning of your wedding while you are getting ready. Make sure that you are comfortable! Sweatpants/comfy capris are highly recommended.

Lesson learned #31: A Maid of Honor is good for more than just holding your bouquet while you say your vows. She can also serve as an errand runner that prevents a minor panic attack.

previously in the series, "how i tied the knot": getting ready, our first look, bouquets and boutonnieres, socks and shoes, bubbles and getting away, the cake, thank you cards, blurb guest book, outside the mansion, the dress, the invitations, cocktail napkins, the centerpiece vases, the programs all pictures by: nicole green. please link back to tying the knot when posting any of these pictures.

Finally Engaged

Just stopping in to share the news and celebrate a little. My wonderful Maid of Honor and long time roommate, Debbie, got engaged over the weekend!!! You know what that means for this little blogger....there is another wedding in the works for me to dabble in! Let's just say that I already have it all planned out in my head. Naturally.

I got a text message yesterday from Debbie, "buying my first bride magazines! thought you would be proud!" Ah yes, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree now does it? Congrats Debbie and Andrew! photo via: rae leytham

On Sunday

Sunday is Mother's Day and for those of you getting married in this quickly approaching wedding season, I urge you to insist on your photographer snapping a shot {like the one below} of you and your Mom. Isn't this one so sweet?!

My Mommy and I didn't give ourselves enough time to get emotional before the ceremony. That's just not how we roll. So we took this picture together after. Isn't Mommy just the cutest?

Happy Mother's Day {on Sunday} Mommy! I love you!

Props

I'm sure that by now you have all heard of the photographer Max Wagner. His work has been floating around the blog world for quite some time now and if you have a looksie, I think that you'll see why.
Max Wagner is "famous" for his use of pretty props in his engagement shoots. He has used everything from a balloon and a sucker to a hula hoop. My favorite is his latest from this engagement shoot. The loose bouquet adds instant romance to the shoot and the results are stunning. If you visit his blog, be prepared to stay a while.

Ruff

I saw this darling little image over on The Little Black Book of Style Me Pretty the other day and couldn't resist sharing.
I've seen dogs with cute little leashes, bow ties, collar necklaces, etc...but never one with a precious little tie. I was and am in love with this look from the second I saw it. Who could possibly resist this guy? He might even be cuter than the groom.

First Order of Business

After the first kiss, the first thing that you get to do together as a couple is walk back down the aisle. Beaming from ear to ear you are a newly minted married couple. Your first order of business? Take a moment just to be with eachother. Hug. Kiss. Just be.
Chris and I high fived our bridal party, shared a brief kiss and then high-tailed it back to the front of the church to dismiss our guests. I am a firm believer that you should make every moment last a little longer on your wedding day and I wish we would have slowed down at that particular moment and relished in the fact that we were really {finally} married.

Starbucks

Over at Penned & Pretty, yesterday's post featured a delicious save the date, and I just had to share it here, along with a story for all of you.
One of the first {of many} sweet little things that Chris did for me involved Starbucks. He came up with this elaborate plot with one of my sorority sisters to get me to the Starbucks on campus at 7am on a Friday morning. I had no clue what was going on and willingly went to Starbucks with my friend, having just rolled out of bed sporting no makeup and my favorite old old old hooded sweatshirt and non-matching sweatpants. I was a sight to see. My dear friend and I were in line to buy our Starbucks when there was a tap on my shoulder. Chris had taken the day off work and driven up bright and early to surprise me and spend the day together. I was shocked...and completely embarrassed that I had no makeup on. However, the day that we spent together was absolutely perfect in every way. We snapped this little gem along the canal in Indianapolis and it remains one of our favorites to this day.

And there you have it. A lovely save the date and a story to boot. You're now on your way to having a perfect little Friday. My friends and I are headed up to Chicago bright and early on Saturday morning for the bachelorette party in honor of our friend Candice. I'm sure I'll be back with stories. p.s. how in the world is it already may 1st?
