More to Come....

Have I mentioned that Halloween is my fav-o-rite time of the year?

I'll blog more later tonight about the reasons why...
Let's just say that I had a very special trick-or-treater come to my door last night.....

The "Pre-Planning" Stage

I like to call my current stage in the wedding planning process the "pre-planning" stage. As in, I'm not yet engaged, but I'm planning like a fiend!! Here's a status update:

Accomplished in the pre-planning process thus far:
- tentative date set
- my half of the wedding party is set, but not yet being revealed
- dead set on bridesmaids dresses from j. crew
- one step away from booking Jessica Strickland as my photographer
- in possession of a list of 10 churches in the downtown area
- ideas swirling for an invitation and save the date design,
- planning on engagement picts being taken in early April

Waiting on C to pop the question before:
- drafting a guest list
- deciding on a location (downtown or north of Indianapolis ), church, and reception hall
- selecting the his half of the wedding party & ushers
- deciding on a theme:
“tying the knot” : blue, green, nautical white rope

OR “a black & white affair” : black, white, plum, and a speck of gold

both pictures taken from knottie wtbe07's bio

Stuck on:
- An affordable wedding website…that will let my guests RSVP on-line

- Designing the invites myself v. using a template from
Not From a Box,
My Gatsby,
Uniquity Invitations

Caught in the Act

So this weekend I was caught in the act by my boyfriend...visiting weddingbee! Oops!

Seeing as how we're not engaged YET, I knew he would give me a "look" and ask why I was visiting such a site. I applied my most innocent smile and told him that I was just browsing and getting inspiration...which is true!!

Meanwhile, I have been thinking about table names for the reception. Should I go with names of various knots (bowline, clove hitch, square knot, etc), different synonyms for love(Commitment, Honor, Devotion, Faith, etc.), or other nautical images such as the flags below: (from theknot)

Although I l-o-v-e this look, I feel as though I am too much of a color-coordinating freak and I wouldn't be able to handle a red and yellow with my navy and green details. So....I am leaning towards the different kinds of knots to substitute as table numbers.

Wishful Thinking

So, this Labor Day Weekend passed with no proposal. If Chris would have proposed this weekend, it would have "tied" in perfectly with my previously mentioned "Tying the Knot" theme. But, Im sure that when it happens, the moment and the proposal itself will be perfect.

However, I did manage to get the picture I fell in love with....against all of Chris's wishes:

So, its not exactly what I pictured, but it will have to do for now.

However, I am still full steam ahead with my nautical theme. Obsessed is a good word to describe my love for it.

To Hint or Not to Hint

As I mentioned before, I am not yet engaged. The "plan" was to get engaged sometime in the summer of 2007 and get married in the summer of 2008. We have decided to get married in Indianapolis and I would like to get married downtown. Other than that, we haven't discussed much. That doesn't mean that I haven't been planning on the sly though!

This weekend is labor day weekend and Chris and I are heading up to the lake to spend some time with my parents, relax, and enjoy the water and the sun over the last weekend of summer. Now, my aforementioned post stated that I wanted to have a "tying the knot" themed wedding complete with engagement pictures/STD taken at the lake and a nautical theme. So you can imagine my desire to become engaged AT the lake. HOW PERFECT!! And I already found one of the pictures that I would love to take after the proposal:

The picture was found at "The Preppy Wedding" blogspot. Of course, my chairs would be white to correlate with my navy, white, and a splash of green color scheme. Ohhhh I am so excited!

Of course, its too late to hint about my desire to him now. If it happens, it happens and life, and my theme, will be perfect! Cross your fingers!
