Evidence

By now you all know that I have a deep deep love for long {really long} veils. I would like to share this little gem with you. Just a little evidence of a long veil doin' it's thang and rockin' it out.
Further evidence of how stunning long veils are can be seen on this little bloggity blog here, here, here and here. And of course, my own veil in action striking a pose for the camera right here.

Twist & Wrap

This, my friends, is the beauty of wearing a long veil on your wedding day...

...letting it twist and wrap around you before draping it over your arm. Perfection in my book.

Mommy and I bought my veil a couple weeks ago and it's taking everything within me to resist pulling it out from my closet, affixing it to my pretty little head, and twirling around in it.

We've decided that I'll only be wearing it for a teeny tiny bit of the day...for a select few pictures before the wedding and during the actual ceremony itself. After that it will go back in the closet. Sad, I know.

However, one of the aforementioned "select" pictures that the veil will make an appearance in will for sure be one like this one:

How to Rock a Birdcage...Veil

In today's earlier post, I featured a couple that got some to-die-for shots in front of a mansion on the day of their wedding. If you haven't checked out the rest of the pictures from their wedding day and "day after shoot", you should....for this one reason: her birdcage veil. And, just for fun, shoes adorned with feathers. Perfection.

Copy {Click} and Paste {Volume 4}

Continuing on with yesterday's post and my love for a long veil, I give you this:

I'm not usually one for the-wind-has-caught-my-veil-and-now-it's-floating look, but I'll make an exception. I love the extra long veil. And "the dip" doesn't hurt either. Annnd the church in the background (I love the bouquet and the ruffles on the dress, but that's beside the point).
Long story short, I want this shot.

Long it is...

It started with the veil in this post. And then there were these. And now there are these:

My love for the long veil continues. Now I just need to find mine!

High or Low?

Two brides. Perfect hair. Beautiful dresses. Gorgeous bouquets. Different "veil styles." What's your veil style?

(picture from bobbi + mike)
Left: Low Veil. Worn at the base of an updo or towards the middle/lower part of the head
Right: High Veil. Worn at the top of the updo or near the crown of the head

Vote on the right or leave a comment with your thoughts.
I think I'll keep mine on the low down.

I Want a Long One

It started with the pictures in this post.
And then I saw this picture....

(Jennifer Skog)

And this picture sealed the deal.

(Christine Farah)

I want a long one. At least for the ceremony. If Mom is going to have two dresses then I can have two veils...

Veiled Options

When I was searching for my dress, I cringed every time the associate assisting me would stick a veil into my hair. Actually, it was more like she stabbed the veil into my head. Hasn't every bride experienced this kind of pain?! I see it as a right of passage. Regardless, a couple of months ago I wasn't even sure if I wanted to wear a veil on the big day. I didn't want to be trapped behind mosquito netting while walking down the aisle and I wanted to avoid any sort of veil that looked like a giant marshmallow around my head. I was indifferent as to the length as long as it wasn't too short.

And then I saw these pictures via the ritzy bee blog:

I'll take that exact veil, please! I'm planning on pinning mine underneath my "updo" and having it flow down instead of pinning it anywhere near the top of my updo/head in order to minimize any chance of a "poof"/halo effect around my head.

My dress doesn't have as long of a train as I really wanted, so perhaps a longer veil would give off the look that I wanted, especially for the ceremony. And then, the veil will come off for the reception. Thoughts? Will the long veil give the illusion of a longer train or will it take away from the back of the dress? Are you/did you take off your veil for the reception?
