Slipping It On

So, in the post below I stated how much I love the shot of the bride slipping on the grooms wedding band while she states her vows. My love for that shot started when I saw this picture:

So I sifted through our wedding photos, did a little cropping, little editing with the help of picnik and came up with this:

It's a new "favorite" of mine, for sure.

Tying the Knot: The Bubbles and The Get Away

Remember this post about what to have for the guests to "toss" after our exit from the church? And then there was this post when I found the ribbon wavers but I was still on the fence about them so I posted this when I was momentarily considering a balloon release. And then it came down to two weeks before the wedding and there was this discussion about how it was now or never for the ribbon wavers.... We went with the bubbles. And I couldn't have been happier.

Our get away car was my Uncles' convertible. It was perfect in every way.

Tying the Knot: The Ceremony

Everyone was seated and the bridesmaids were making their way down the aisle. I took a deep breath. The flower girls ventured down the aisle and I could hear the murmurs of adoration coming from our guests. My maid of honor gave me a reassuring smile and began her walk. The doors closed and my uncle and I stepped into place as the music began to change. I could hear our guests stand. My Uncle took my hand, put it on his arm, and the doors opened. It was one of, if not the best moment ever. My eyes fell on Chris, waiting at the end of the aisle. He was beaming. So was I.

The ceremony was perfect in so many ways. But it flew by. Before we knew it, it was time for the first kiss. Which we practiced before hand. And it too was perfect.

And then, we were married!

As we were walking down the aisle after being pronounced, the priest handed Chris our marriage certificate/licence. Like a quarterback handing off a football. Thus, it makes it's appearance in this photo.

Wedding Bells

This weekend was a big weekend for Chris and I! We spent time planning, visiting with my parents, catching up with my co-workers, walking along the canal, and visiting cathedrals for our wedding.

Saint Mary's Cathedral:
This cathedral had beautiful stained glass windows that let in SO much light. The pews and the marble columns were gorgeous and ornate and the space itself was breathtaking! There was even a courtyard out back!
Saints Peter & Paul Cathedral:
This space was just as beautiful, but in a different way. The pews were replaced with actual seats and there was a basin of holy water at the center of the entry way in the back of the church.

Next weekend we will be finding a church in Cincinnati to attend regularly, inquiring about marriage counseling, and perhaps finding a priest to preside over our ceremony!
